Hays client is seeking reliable and skilled tilers with a well-established residential building and construction company specialising in renovation/new build construction, residential maintenance, and insurance and remediation projects. The role requires someone who can work independently, manage tasks, and meet all necessary job requirements. Their portfolio consists of government contracts and residential clientele.
Your new role
In your new role you will be responsible for:
* Perform tiling installations, repairs, and maintenance on various surfaces including floors, walls, and countertops in residential settings.
* Assess and prepare surfaces for tiling by cleaning, levelling, and applying appropriate adhesives.
* Select and cut tiles to fit specific areas using hand tools and power tools.
* Lay tiles in precise and aesthetically pleasing patterns, ensuring proper alignment and spacing.
* Grout and finish tiled areas, ensuring a clean and polished appearance.
* Conduct remedial tiling work, addressing issues such as leaks, cracks, and water damage.
* Collaborate with insurance adjusters and homeowners to assess and document tiling damage for claims.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
* Comply with safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will need to have the following.
* Certificate III in wall and floor tiling (CPC31320) or equivalent
* A valid white card, asbestos awareness and silica awareness ticket
* Experience with a wide range of tiling materials including ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone.
* Extensive knowledge of tiling techniques, materials, and tools.
* The ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to assess and address tiling issues effectively.
* Good communication skills while interacting with clients, adjusters, and team members.
* Own tools and reliable vehicle.
