This will see you maximise engagement for each resident in meaningful lifestyle activities and maintain comprehensive records. By delivering holistic, individually tailored continuity of care, you’ll also advise and support students, colleagues, volunteers and loved ones. Personal Carer: Working collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams, you will provide high-quality personal care to our residents based on their individual needs. About you We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients. The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience: Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or Certificate III in Aged Care Minimum 3 months demonstrated experience in a personal carer role to be able to work without direct supervision Excellent understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours Sound problem solving skills particularly when assessing balancing a resident’s desire for independence and self determination to make their own choices against potential risks and duty of care Exceptional communication, organisational and relationship building skills as well as a passion for gerontic care Proficient computer and keyboard skills and the ability to use Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail and in-house databases) Basic understanding of how to apply AN-ACC to ensure optimum levels of funding are achieved in the area of responsibility Applicants who also have the following skills and experience will be highly regarded: Previous experience in implementing engaging lifestyle activities designed to meet the needs, goals and preferences of older people will be Lifestyle qualifications - i.e. Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or equivalent, Senior first aid and CPR certificate About us Southern Cross Care is one of Australia’s leading charitable aged care, health and retirement living service providers.
