The Opportunity:
You will be responsible for a variety of plant and equipment including box and carton machines used by the growers and suppliers involved in the local primary industry.
The Role
1. Implement and oversee modifications to plant equipment to enhance performance and reliability.
2. Install, assemble, repair and service machines. Working on glue lines, roll-overs, conveyors, cylinders, belts, and other components. Change out parts, replacing bearings and other key components.
3. Test all mechanical parts after being repaired to ensure repairs are adequately completed
4. Management of supplies and spare parts, managing inventory, planning for preventative maintenance, and quickly responding to breakdowns.
5. Assisting to formulate action plans and driving continuous improvement with systems to ensure they are efficient, transparent and deliver required results.
6. Diagnose and resolve equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
7. Ensure appropriate compliance audits are conducted and issues arising to be rectified in a timely manner.
8. Maintain accurate records of equipment modifications, repairs, and maintenance activities.
9. Monitoring all outgoing material to ensure quality standards and safety compliance.
10. Work closely with engineering teams to understand equipment needs and provide technical support.
11. Provide detailed reports to management as required.
What you will bring to the position:
12. Trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering Mechatronics, or a related field is required.
13. Minimum of 3 years of practical experience working with manufacturing machines and modification of components in similar environment
14. Good sense of safety, analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in diagnostics and troubleshooting equipment and ability to work independently.
15. Strong communication skills with a positive a proactive approach to work.
This is a permanent, full-time 38 hours pw role. Additional hours and some weekend work will be required during busy periods.
