Engineering & Technology (E&T) provides technical expertise to support the department's innovative & value-for-money design solutions.
In the role of Senior Engineer, you will provide specialist technical advice to internal projects and external practitioners. You will possess strong project management skills towards the delivery of road infrastructure projects and provide expert advice regarding the interpretation, application, and review of relevant technical policies, standards, & guidelines across a range of transport infrastructure planning and design activities.
A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Engineer to join the Design Services team in the Engineering and Technology Road Design unit.
As the Senior Engineer (Design Services), you will work closely with internal and external customers on projects providing specialist road geometric and/or drainage design advice for major transport infrastructure projects across the state. You will also review and provide advice on Development Applications received by Transport and Main Roads concerning their impact on infrastructure and any required mitigation.
Proven communication and interpersonal skills will be beneficial to the role, as you will need to liaise and communicate with regional planning and design staff, engineering consultants, working groups, and representatives from other government authorities. You will also be called upon to offer your expert opinion and advice regarding the interpretation, application, and review of relevant technical policies, standards, and guidelines across a range of transport infrastructure planning and design activities.
Mandatory requirements:A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Civil Engineering or equivalence recognised by Engineers AustraliaRegistration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)If this role is of interest to you, please apply as stipulated in the Role Description.
