About the Centre
The Horsham Aquatic Centre opened its doors on the 20th of October 2006 and has been managed by the YMCA on behalf of the Horsham Rural City Council ever since. We boast over 50 group exercise classes a week, a fully equipped gym which is now 24/7, three swimming pools, crèche, swimming lessons, personal training, and a café.
About the Role
As a Lifeguard, you’ll help provide a safe swimming environment for all centre visitors. You’ll be patient, focused, and friendly to keep pool-users informed and safe. Duties of the role include:
* Supervising a large aquatic space while proactively ensuring a safe environment in and around the pool area
* Maintaining concentrated observation of pools and patrons to anticipate and respond to problems
* Ensuring facility rules are being obeyed while educating facility users about safe aquatic practices
* Carrying out intervention and preventative action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons, the facility, and equipment
This is a casual position with an hourly rate up to $32.25 + Super.
About You
We are seeking motivated, organised, and proactive Lifeguards to join the team. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children, young people, and all facility users. Other required qualities are:
* Ability to make decisions while under pressure
* Ability to manage conflicts with patrons and users
* Ability to stay alert and vigilant in a repetitive work environment
* Ability to multitask
* Providing excellent customer service for all members and guests
* Experience in the Aquatics and Leisure industry will be highly regarded
Essential Qualifications
* Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate
* HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
* HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
