Overview
Reporting to the CFO, the Group Head of Procurement will spearhead the development and leadership of our global procurement and facilities function. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape strategy, streamline operations, and build a future-proof procurement framework across our UK, India, and Australia teams.
Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement sourcing and procurement strategies aligned with business objectives. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand and address procurement needs. Identify opportunities for cost savings, quality improvements, and innovation. Lead an effective property strategy for the organization.
2. Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors. Conduct performance evaluations and manage contract negotiations to secure favorable terms. Drive procurement activities across various categories, ensuring efficient sourcing processes. Conduct market analysis to stay informed about industry trends and supplier capabilities.
3. Operational Excellence: Oversee the vendor management system, ensuring global accessibility and efficient information sharing. Optimize supplier setup processes, purchase order management, and payment approaches in collaboration with Finance Control. Lead the global facilities function to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, and safety across all locations. Implement robust supplier due diligence and reporting processes to support sustainability targets.
4. People Leadership: Lead and develop teams across the UK, Australia, and India through effective communication and collaboration. Foster a high-performing, motivated team culture through development, coaching, and succession planning. Actively contribute to the Finance Leadership Team, promoting a culture aligned with MUFG Pension & Market Solutions' values.
5. Governance & Risk Management: Support assurance programs to ensure effective risk management and compliance practices. Establish strong governance and control frameworks for procurement and vendor management processes. Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities and supplier relationships. Provide oversight and guidance on vendor management policy adherence and WHS regulations.

6. Extensive leadership experience in Sourcing Management or a related field in a complex, matrix style organisation.
7. Experience of property management preferred.
8. In depth understanding of contract commercials and price negotiations
9. High level of business acumen and strategic thinking
10. Proven leadership and team development capabilities
11. Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
12. Robust understanding of IT ecosystems, supplier landscapes and their operation
13. Extensive understanding of procurement practices and tendering processes
14. Demonstrated understanding of the implications of different procurement choices
