The Hospital:
This is a 189-bed specialist teaching hospital servicing a population dispersed over 1.6 million square kilometres. This dispersion provides unique and rewarding challenges in the delivery of a range of comprehensive health services. Opened in 1977 the hospital was extensively redeveloped in 2002 with further rectification work in 2009 and is complemented by a setting of superbly designed gardens and outdoor areas. The hospital provides the following services: Day Procedure, Emergency, Intensive Care and High Dependency, Maternity, Medical, Outpatients, Paediatric, Special Care Nursery, Surgical and Mental Health, plus arrange of clinical support services. It is also accredited with the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards and has links to many external research organisations.
The Role:
As this is a regional location, they are in need of an experienced General Surgeon who is a good all-rounder. If you are seeking a challenging role in a state-of-the-art facility in a stunningly beautiful tropical location, then this could be for you.
