The Manager, Governance and Oversight will:
• Prepare high level strategic analysis and advice to assist the Director, Executive Director and Deputy Director-General to advise the Minister, Director-General, and senior management.
• Lead the coordination and operations of governance groups responsible for overseeing the work of the FNJO and related justice system reform, including the development of papers on strategic issues relevant to the portfolio.
• Research and advise on contemporary policy and legislative frameworks, based on evidence and best practice locally, nationally and internationally.
• Develop and maintain productive partnerships with a range of stakeholders to ensure successful negotiation on implementation issues and represent the FNJO on committees and working groups.
• Oversee implementation of the FNJO's work program, consistent with Government commitments and directions set by the Attorney-General and Director-General, meeting all deadlines and performance requirements, within budget while building the capacity of the team.
• Support the FNJO Executive Director and Directors, and Deputy Director-General of Justice Policy and Reform, to represent the department in intergovernmental forums and negotiations, undertake analysis specific to budget and policy initiatives at both Commonwealth and State levels.
