As the Manager of Operational Services and Systems, you will oversee the daily operations of USU's food, beverage, and retail outlets. This includes developing and implementing tactical operational plans aligned with our strategic vision, ensuring legislative compliance, optimising service delivery, and driving financial stability and sustainability. You will lead a diverse team, foster internal and external relationships, and manage facilities and IT systems that support our food and beverage services. WHAT YOU WILL DO Food and Beverage Operations: Implement USU’s F&B strategy: develop and manage menus, pricing, and inventory to optimise customer satisfaction and profitability. Oversee customer service standards, marketing promotions, and loyalty programs. Maintain professional, safe, and well-equipped facilities. Build and foster strong relationships with critical external stakeholders including suppliers, tenants, and the University of Sydney Operational and Financial Planning and Reporting: Prepare operational plans in line with USU’s Strategy and vision Prepare budgets, track sales and expenses, and deliver financial reports. Monitor key metrics for efficiency, cost optimisation, and service delivery. Leadership and Team Development: Mentor and coach staff to achieve their full potential. Foster a collaborative, productive and high performing team culture. Facilities and IT Systems: Maintain and enhance IT systems and infrastructure. Ensure systems are leveraged to support future strategic needs. Governance and Compliance: Ensure compliance with HACCP, liquor licensing, and other regulatory requirements. Participate in audits and maintain the highest standards of safety and hygiene. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA You are an experienced food and beverage professional with a proven track record in operations management. Your expertise spans customer service, financial planning, compliance, team leadership, and systems management. You have a proactive approach, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong focus on results.. Key Skills and Experience: 5+ years’ experience in managing successful food, beverage, and retail operations. 3+ years’ experience managing ICT functions. Strong knowledge of EUC, ICT, ITIL and cyber security in an operational context Expertise in financial management, including budgeting and reporting. Strong leadership and team development skills. Knowledge of compliance standards, including HACCP and liquor licensing. Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills. HOURS OF WORK This is a Permanent Full Time position, 35 hours per week.
