Directly reporting to the COO - Construction Materials, the General Manager of PWE Quarry Services will be responsible for the successful leadership, growth, and management of the PWE Quarry Services team’s External Facing projects, ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and development of its people along with ensuring the successful delivery of projects.The General Manager of PWE Quarry Services will oversee all earthworks and quarrying activities to ensure the strategic growth plan and operating/capital budgets are effectively utilized and a satisfactory return is provided for the business.The General Manager of PWE Quarry Services will work with the Construction Materials COO, CM BDM directors, CM General Managers and other senior team members to set long range objectives, formulate plans to achieve these objectives and monitor performance to ensure these objectives are achieved for the overall business.The General Manager of PWE Quarry Services will provide input and support to the CM General Managers, CM sales and operations and the team, bringing insights to inform the Company’s strategy throughout the Quarrying sector.Key responsibilities:Knowledge of all aspects of earthmoving and quarrying operationsProven track record working in operating quarries and completing works on time and on budget.Lead and manage the compliance requirements that exist in the business (Project software systems, process, policy requirements)Stakeholder management and influencing skills relating to clients and staff.Communication and interpersonal skills focused on Client growth and company growth.A collaborative approach to leadership, diversity of thought and inclusion.A proven and visible leader around health, safety, and wellbeing.Lead and manage financial, commercial, and strategic OperationsDevelop a high performing team that has at its core the value of respect and teamwork and the will to win and be successful.Management of Site teams, Supervisors, suppliers, and plant hireDaily, monthly review and monitoring of activity revenue and costsManaging clients’ expectations and developing relationships with key client contacts focusing on growth and opportunities.Accountable for all safety requirements for the company, lead and drive safety culture making all staff accountable for their safety performance.Driving the team relating to Completion of required company QA/QC documents for all projectsPreparing reports and maintaining accurate records including Monthly sales forecasting and project pipelineBuilding relationships with clients and developing Joint venture opportunities for large scale projects.Knowledge and experience required:10+ years’ experience in a similar roleCERT IV in Surface extraction or similarExperience in quarrying operationsDemonstrated recent senior management experience in a similar role.Strong focus on profitabilityStrong focus on company expansion in an active marketAttention to detail, commitment to quality and results driven.You will be a self-starter and motivated by establishing contactsDemonstrated professional communication, presentation, and negotiation skillsExperience using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM’sHave a collaborative style that will build strong relationshipsHands on and dynamic individualTertiary qualifications in Engineering or similar technical field will be well regarded but not essentialFor more information about this role, please contact HR@maasgroup.com.au
