Job Description - Junior Project Accountant (262156) The Opportunity: UGL Utilities division is seeking a Junior Project Accountant for a Power Station project based in the Hunter Valley region.This is a 6-month fixed-term, full-time contract with a potential to extend.This Junior Project Accountant role will support the end-to-end of the Hunter Power Project Payroll process.Your focus will be on the project costing, including a detailed reconciliation of each pay run, and a detailed month-end reconciliation of all payroll entitlements and payroll provisions (e.g.Annual leave, sick leave etc.).You will also analyse payroll data, providing insight, and initiate process improvements.Some key responsibilities of this role will include: Assist Finance and P&C teams in analysing payroll financial data and ensuring its integrity in SAP, while maintaining systems for project/contract compliance.Adhere to UGL's health and safety systems, foster a safe work environment, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies.Perform general ad hoc duties as requested and work independently while embodying "The UGL Way" principles.Foster cooperation and knowledge sharing among project finance personnel.Promote continuous learning, build know-how, and stimulate commitment through involvement. About You: Currently studying or part-qualified in commerce/accounting, with experience in project payroll, labour rates, and site-based roles is preferred.Strong skills in large ERP systems (e.g., SAP), Excel, and overall system skills.Strong oral and written communication, negotiation, and influencing abilities; effective relationship-building at various levels.Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving capacity, and ability to work independently, organise, prioritise, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail, solid commercial understanding, and possession of a driver's license.
