About the Role We are currently hiring for a Trades Assistant in our Osbourne Park, Perth Location.
This position is responsible for assisting in the installation and maintenance of the Vocus Fibre network.
As part of the connections process, the role will be involved in fibre jointing, copper installations, infrastructure upgrades, and fault restorations.
Other duties include optical cable splicing, optical cable hauling, network maintenance, after hours' restoration, pit and pipe installations, and building entries.
What you'll do in this role As the Trade Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
Optical Cable Splicing and HaulingOptical fibre network maintenancePit and pipe installationsBuilding entriesFault restorationTake part in the on-call roster for afterhours fault restorationCustomer management – including Installation and Maintenance of Customer Enclosures and associated cablingEnsure customer connections are completed within required time framesMaintain a high level of customer satisfactionLiaise with Management on issuesProactively identify possible improvements processesInvolvement in implementation of improved systems and processesComply with continuous improvement initiatives and management systemsReport any deficiencies in management systems and where appropriate, suggest areas for improvementComply with all risk management initiatives throughout the business and report any risksAbout You Proven previous experience in a similar Trade Assistant roleStrong cabling experienceStructured Cabling qualifications (Desired)Excellent communication skillsAbility to work effectively within a teamHigh level of customer service skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to work at heights and in confined spacesAbility to work flexible hoursAbility to train and supervise other staffIntermediate Computer SkillsCurrent C Class Drivers LicenceWhite Card (Construction Training)What We Offer Working at Vocus will give you rewarding experiences and the opportunity to do extraordinary work.
