Position Overview
We seek an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and deliver complex electrical and control system projects from concept design to commissioning.
This role involves the design, specification, and implementation of low-voltage electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems across various industries.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, safety compliance, and hands-on commissioning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead concept designs, feasibility studies, and develop cost estimates for electrical projects.
* Perform low voltage power system modelling, including load flow, short circuit, and arc flash studies.
* Design and specify low voltage protection systems and switchboards (main switchboards, MCCs, distribution boards, control panels, and local control stations).
* Deliver detailed electrical and instrumentation designs, including cable sizing, routing, I/O allocations, BOMs, and equipment specifications.
* Prepare and review electrical and instrumentation drawing packages (SLDs, schematics, terminations, general arrangements, P&IDs, loop diagrams).
* Develop electrical installation scopes of work and ensure compliance with safety standards.
* Facilitate and document Safety in Design processes.
* Write functional specifications for process and control systems.
* Design and implement functional safety systems, including documentation and testing.
* Program and implement PLC, HMI, and Drive systems (Allen Bradley, Schneider, Omron, Siemens).
* Develop and execute quality, testing, and commissioning documentation.
* Oversee commissioning of control systems both remotely and onsite.
* Manage projects end-to-end, including tender facilitation, contractor management, and construction supervision.
Skills & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design and control systems engineering.
* Proficient in power system modelling and low-voltage system design.
* Extensive experience with PLC, HMI, and drive programming across multiple vendors.
* Strong knowledge of functional safety standards and Safety in Design principles.
* Proven project management skills, from design to commissioning.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities.
