Job Description We are seeking a full-time experienced Transport Planner/Scheduler to manage distribution from our Deeside Branch.
The role will involve: Planning and scheduling delivery routes for cylinder and tanker deliveries. Ensuring drivers have the correct paperwork to fulfil their deliveries. Having good geographical knowledge of the local area and North Wales. Providing leadership for daily distribution issues. Carrying out audit checks on the vehicles prior to leaving the site. Being the primary contact for drivers throughout the day that experience vehicle or delivery issues. Responsible for receiving vehicle defects and escalate to the Transport manager. Responsibility for managing driver's hours and tachograph compliance. Work with the transport manager to have vehicles and trailers available for inspection and servicing in accordance with their schedules. Work closely with the team to maximise delivery efficiency. Serve customers with gas cylinders at the trade counter. During busy periods, answer the phone for inbound calls. The successful candidate will have: A valid driving licence. HGV or ADR would be an advantage but not essential. Good knowledge of the local area. Proficiency in IT applications. Ability to focus and provide solutions under pressure. Willingness to work additional hours to meet demand. Ability to work in a team and on own initiative. Experience within the LPG industry or similar is an advantage. Standard hours of work are 7.30 am to 5.15 pm Monday to Friday + Saturdays on a rota basis.
