Role of Senior Systems EngineerThe team member will perform the following functions:
Primary ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates thorough understanding of major system components in completing assigned tasks (i.e., storage systems, Linux kernel, UNIX kernel, UNIX file system and Windows infrastructure)Configure controls, install or troubleshoot programs within multiple system environmentsDevelop scripts for reusable, repeatable configuration management and deploymentPartner closely with delivery and support staff on software configuration management and build/release processes through CI/CD pipeline to meet customer needsDiagnose problems with application programs, common systems, or systematic questioning techniquesAssist in daily support of the systems/products assigned, through early detection and pursuit or changes in system responses or operationProvide prompt recovery and problem escalation for the exceptions, extrapolating and integrating information within defined boundaries, using multiple system management and problem management toolsWork closely with support groups to refine system monitoring and reporting, and to assist them in their analysis and problem recoveryDiagnose system performance problems and apply problem solving skills in multiple operating environmentsAll other duties as assignedSkills RequiredExtensive experience in Linux kernel, UNIX kernel, UNIX file system and Windows infrastructureExceptional experience with DevOps engineering, software configuration and build/release management (Jenkins, Puppet, AWS, Docker and Kubernetes)Change management, automation and process improvementExtensive experience in cloud environments (AWS)Experience in scripting for automation of environment creationUnderstanding of system and problem management toolsStrong problem solving abilityStrong knowledge of web server (Apache, Squid Proxy, Tomcat etc)Strong knowledge of database technology (SQL, MySQL)Knowledge of messaging (JMS, ActiveMQ, SonicMQ)Knowledge of XML/XSLTKnowledge of build and deployment tools (Ant, Mavin and Gradle)Knowledge of ELK (ElasticSearch, Logstash and Kibana)Experience RequiredYou will be educated to a Masters degree level in an IT related discipline
Proven experience in DevOps Engineering for at least 5-7 years
Certification in AWS Solution Architect
