The Team:The position is working with the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) which is a mental health service caring for consumers under 18 years old, and their families / carers. We are an inclusive and supportive team, which has recently expanded under the Statewide Mental Health services reform program, meaning there are numerous opportunities for professional development and growth.The Role:As part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Occupational Therapist - Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS) will:Undertake delivery of quality care to consumers of the Child & Youth Mental Health Service based on best practice principles and within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.Provide evidence-based assessment and treatment interventions for consumers with severe and complex mental health including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs.Function as an active member of a multidisciplinary team including the provision of support and consultation to other team members as required.Consultation and liaison with the broader health system, including GPs, other Agencies and families/carers to optimise service effectiveness and efficiency.You will need:A minimum of two years post graduate employment in a clinical area directly applicable to the Child and Youth Mental Health Service area.Demonstrated clinical knowledge and understanding of mental health in relation to the Child and Youth Mental Health Service area with the ability to provide appropriate assessment of mental health problems.Demonstrated expertise in the theoretical and practical application of a range of therapeutic interventions relevant to the Child and Youth Mental Health Service area with the ability to acquire further expertise into the future.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.Details of appointment:Permanent, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.Salary: $110,425 to $126,703 per annum.
