About the Role:
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for delivering outcomes based on the Board's strategic direction, representing the College nationally, and providing overall leadership and operational management.
The CEO will facilitate exceptional communication with members and other stakeholders, reporting directly to the President.
Key Responsibilities:
* Governance: Ensuring best practice and clear direction to comply with governance requirements
* Business Development: Driving growth in line with the strategic plan targets
* Organisational Policy Development: Creating and updating policies to support the organisation's goals
* Program Delivery Management: Overseeing the successful delivery of programs and projects
* Human Resources Management: Managing HR requirements to support the organisation's needs
* Mentorship: Providing guidance and mentorship to Operations team members
* Financial Performance: Monitoring and driving financial initiatives to support the organisation's goals
* Strategic Support: Providing strategic support to the Nurse Practitioners workforce plan and other policy and legislative changes
Key Selection Criteria:
* Exemplary Strategic, Operational, Financial, and People Management Skills
* Understanding of the Political Environment: Familiarity with current issues affecting the health and social services sector, relating to nurse practitioners
* Financial Acumen: Ability to prepare budgets, business plans, and funding submissions
* Data Analysis: Ability to analyse data, identify risk, opportunities, and issues for the organisation
* Interpersonal Skills: High level of interpersonal skills with proven track record of managing stakeholder relationships
* Government Understanding: High level understanding of roles and functions within Department of Health and Aged Care and government
* Relationship Development: Ability to develop and manage relationships within government
* Advice Provision: Providing high-level advice to board members on strategic requirements for legislative and policy change
* Leadership Experience: Leadership experience in the health, community, or not-for-profit sectors
* Program Management: Implementing and managing a diverse portfolio of programs and projects within a continuous quality improvement framework
* Financial Initiatives: Exposure to financial initiatives and meeting revenue targets
* Board Member Relationships: Working closely with and managing board member relationships
* Experience Requirements: At least 5 years in a similar or related position
* Prior Governance Experience: Previous governance or leadership experience in the NFP sector
Qualifications and Job-Specific Requirements:
* Previous Experience: Previous experience as a registered nurse, senior manager within the health sector, or a policy officer
* Location: Melbourne or Canberra based location (flexible working arrangements and hours) (preferred, not essential)
