Health, Safety & Environment (Mining, Resources & Energy) Full time About Destec Destec is a proudly Western Australian owned and operated company with a fast-growing client base that provides ore processing and materials handling services to the mining industry across Western Australia. We take pride in innovation through designing, constructing, building, maintaining, and operating our own crushing and screening plants for Tier 1 mining sites. The role We are seeking to fill the most Senior Safety Leader role in our business. The position reports directly to our Director and will be responsible for helping our executive team drive our safety culture and build on our strong existing systems and procedures with the aim of zero harm across our operations. Located in our West Perth office with regular site travel, you'll be responsible for managing all aspects of health, safety, environmental, and training initiatives. This includes overseeing our site-based HSE professionals, setting annual HSE goals, monitoring performance to identify trends, and implementing ongoing improvement programs. To be successful in this role you will require the following: Diploma in OHS or equivalent tertiary qualification Minimum 5 years experience working in a senior HSE leadership role, ideally within the mining industry Strong understanding and application of legislative and regulatory requirements (Mining) High level awareness and understanding of injury management processes and workers compensation legislation Track record of working with senior management and implementing HSE management plans to support the organisations HSE goals Ability to prepare HSE reports & other documentation for management Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and build effective relationships at all levels Experience with coordinating risk assessment workshops to ensure project and risk alignment Ability to lead incident reporting and evidence gathering Track record of developing safety audit standards and safety training programs Ability to ensure team review compliance of day-to-day tasks ensuring alignment with activity risk assessment Ability to establish a company culture of safety first Experience with mobile plant operations in a construction and operational environment Current C Class driver's licence Preferred, although not essential First Aid or Senior First Aid Certificate Cert IV in Training & Assessing Construction White Card What we ask of our people Act in an open and respectful manner to our clients and our people Seek opportunity in all we can do and endeavour for continual improvement striving for positive outcomes for our client and people Focus on solutions that provide a sustainable outcome in all we do Adhere to project rules and requirements Attention to detail Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, as well as a drug and alcohol screen What we offer: Excellent remuneration Fulltime permanent work opportunities Safety oriented work environment Benefits Frequent flyer points Salary packaging options Refer-A-Friend program, earn up to $6K per referral Ongoing career development opportunities Fortnightly pay cycle Excellent camp with a wide range of great facilities.
