The role requires an experienced and professional Manager of Civil Works who has a passion for the community in Local Government.
In this role you will have the following accountabilities:
* Lead a team of project based engineers, works and assets staff and contractors.
* Ensure that work output and methods are achieving the companies vision and strategic civil plans.
* Develop, mentor and encourage staff to achieve relevant outcomes in a timely and cost-effective manner.
* Liaise with consultants, contractors, community groups on civil related matters as required.
* Manage the initiation, planning and delivery of multiple capital works projects.
* Develop and implement policies and strategies in alignment with legislation and industry guidelines.
* Lead teams with a values-based approach to drive organisational culture and goals.
* Manage financial aspects, including budget preparation, forecasting, and reporting.
* Engage with stakeholders to provide outstanding customer service.
* Participate in project and contract management within organisational frameworks.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
* Significant experience in project and maintenance management across civil assets.
* Civil Engineering Degree with Professional Membership of Engineers Australia.
* Working experience in a leadership role in civil construction and road maintenance.
* Knowledge of infrastructure standards and local government operations.
* Understanding of pavement techniques involving various methods such as overlaying, patching, crack sealing, and seal coating to preserve and enhance the durability and performance of road surfaces.
* Demonstrated, high level expertise in the areas of contract documentation, contract management, quality assurance and competitive tendering.
* Demonstrated financial/budgeting, legal and technical knowledge and skills associated with major project development and management.
* Significant experience in the management of projects, contractors, consultants and service providers.
* Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Current valid Driver's Licence and NSW Construction Induction White Card.
Estimated Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
