About the Roles: Seeking an AO6 Senior Project Officer to oversee and support the successful delivery of an aerial treatment project aimed at controlling and eradicating fire ants.
This role requires strong project management skills, leadership, and stakeholder engagement to ensure effective treatment strategies are implemented.
Apply project management expertise to plan, execute, and evaluate a coordinated aerial treatment program for fire ant control.
Lead and supervise a small project team, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of treatment activities.
Oversee project coordination, including reporting, tracking deliverables, and risk management.
Manage data recording processes using departmental IT systems, ensuring accuracy in mapping, field data collection, storage, analysis, and reporting.
Provide expert advice to large landholders on fire ant management strategies, including risk mitigation, surveillance, treatment, and compliance.
Develop and implement engagement strategies to support large landholders in accommodating aerial treatment and undertaking ground-based treatments where needed.
Represent the Department at industry events, workshops, and meetings to promote fire ant management initiatives.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across the National Fire Ant Eradication Program.
Be available for some weekend work as required.
Multiple postions for an AO5 Project Officer to support the planning and delivery of aerial treatment initiatives targeting large landholders, including primary producers, government agencies, and high-risk industries.
This role involves technical advice, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring compliance with fire ant management strategies.
Plan and implement aerial treatment activities, working closely with large landholders to support effective fire ant management on their properties.
Provide technical advice on risk mitigation, surveillance, treatment, and reporting to ensure landholders effectively manage fire ant infestations.
Ensure compliance with biosecurity regulations, assisting landholders in meeting their legal requirements for reporting fire ant presence and treatment activities.
Participate in workshops, meetings, and stakeholder engagements to provide expert advice and maintain strong relationships with key industry groups.
Track and coordinate project activities, including farm assessments, self-management plans, and accurate data recording in internal databases.
Support operational delivery efforts as part of the broader fire ant eradication program.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the National Fire Ant Eradication Program.
