Senior Legal Counsel Role in APAC and EMEA
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced senior legal counsel to join our team as Deputy General Counsel, with a focus on regional matters across APAC and EMEA.
Key Responsibilities
* Advising on legal, regulatory, and compliance matters across various subject areas, including corporate governance, privacy, data protection, contracts, employment law, sanctions, critical infrastructure, intellectual property, and information technology law and contracts.
* Tracking legal, regulatory, risk, and compliance issues affecting the organisation and suggesting mitigation/management options.
* Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts and formal agreements.
* Designing, implementing, and delivering internal legal, regulatory, and compliance programs and trainings in key areas such as privacy, data protection, intellectual property protection, and more.
* Updating and maintaining contract management systems and associated legal registers.
* Developing and implementing operational processes and work procedures to enhance the quality, consistency, and efficiency of the Legal function.
Requirements
* A minimum of 5+ years post-qualification experience in Australia or New Zealand.
* Highly developed communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Demonstrated experience in well-regarded law firms or sophisticated corporate environments.
* Technical legal accuracy with significant experience providing practical advice, including commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
* Self-motivation and commitment to delivering high-quality services, with ability to manage varied workloads.
* Ability to travel internationally for meetings and events.
