You'll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, strengthening compliance, and introducing automation to streamline accounting processes.What you'll do (responsibilities)Own key accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and global standards.Strengthen internal controls and SOX compliance, ensuring financial accuracy and integrity.Introduce automation, AI, and new technology to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.Drive process improvements to make financial operations faster, smoother, and more scalable.Partner with teams across Canva to simplify financial processes, provide insights that drive better decision-making, and elevate financial understanding across the company.Support audits and regulatory requirements, working closely with external auditors and internal teams.Provide real-time support and collaboration with US-based teams, ensuring seamless accounting close processes across different time zones.What we're looking forWe're after a strategic, hands-on Senior Corporate Accountant who thrives in fast-paced environments and loves building scalable financial processes.
You're a problem solver who embraces change, enjoys working cross-functionally, and is passionate about making complex things simple.You'll be successful in this role if you have:3–5 years of experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance—ideally in a high-growth or public company.Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal control.
CPA experience is a plus!A problem-solving mindset—you thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy optimizing processes.Excellent communication skills—you can simplify complex financial concepts for non-financial teams.A passion for automation, technology, and improving workflows.Experience working with ERP systems (bonus points for NetSuite!
