JD Ross Energy has partnered with a major Energy Developer and owner of renewable assets in Canberra who requires an Operations Control Engineer.
The incumbent will be responsible for the safe and efficient monitoring and control of renewable assets under operations, ensuring regulations and compliance are being met. You will be a dedicated team player with attention to detail and motivated to deliver first-class professional monitoring and control services nationwide.
Responsibilities
Observation & monitoring of assets via SCADA systems, responding to plant alerts and contingency events in the NEM. Interfacing with Network Service Providers (NSP), Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), the broader operational team, and other appropriate entities regarding asset outages, generation constraints, and/or specific production and network conditions. Uphold a strong understanding of NER/NEM compliance requirements. Examining market dispatch solutions and activities of assets as well as other NEM participants via provided IT systems to optimise dispatch outcomes. Liaising with maintenance contractors to maximise availability as directed by the Market Operations Manager. Provide real-time operational and revenue performance statuses of assets as required. Requirements
Qualifications in either an Engineering or Data Science field. Capability to perform under a rotating roster that includes weekends and night shifts. Adept in Excel and intermediate in other computer programs such as SCADA systems, SQL or other programming languages. Experience in the renewables or utility industry (desirable). Working knowledge in a trading desk, control centre or shift work environment (desirable). Working knowledge of utility wind and solar power generation and protection components, including SCADA and HMI systems (desirable). #J-18808-Ljbffr
