The hospital provides a wide range of services to its community. With 186 registered beds, an emergency department, 5 operating theatres, 12 bed Critical Care Complex and a busy day surgery/endoscopy unit, it offers excellent opportunities for career growth and development.
The hospital specialises in orthopaedics, general surgery, general medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT and gynaecology.

As a CSSD Instrument Technician your responsibilities will include:
1. Ensuring sterilizing practice standards AS/NZ 4187 (2003) and infection control are adhered to at all times.
2. Performing duties in all work areas of the department (decontamination, packing, sterilisation and loan instruments).
3. Testing of machinery (washers, sterilisers etc.).
4. Planning, managing resources and understanding the importance of prioritised equipment.
5. Informing the CSSD Manager/Floor Co-ordinator of any deviation from normal e.g. spore tests, pre-vac tests, washer tests, ultra-sonic tests etc.
6. Performing other duties as specified by the CSSD Manager or Peri-Operative Services Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Grade 2 experience, or higher.
2. Certificate IV in Sterilizing Services or working towards this certificate.
3. Committed to maintaining currency in practical skills and knowledge.
4. Able to work well in a team as well as independently.
5. Able to prioritize, plan and take the initiative to respond to changes.
