Cushla Edwards – Clinical Lead Radiation Therapist, Cairns About the Role: We are seeking a Charge Level Radiation Therapist to join our team in Icon Cancer Centre Moreland. The primary purpose of the position is to provide and perform high quality, safe, patient-centred clinical radiation therapy planning and treatment as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist, overseeing the operation of our planning or treatment functions. This role is a permanent full-time position (76 hours per fortnight) reporting to the Clinical Lead Radiation Therapist. Key Responsibilities: Provide leadership, guidance and support to Radiation Therapists to fulfil their responsibilities. Support the Clinical Lead RT in the day-to-day operational management of a planning or treatment unit. Ensure the operational and administrative functions that relate to the relevant unit, including staffing and equipment management are undertaken in an effective, efficient manner. Act as a technical resource and provide leadership to junior staff. Apply knowledge and experience to make timely and accurate technical decisions. Support change management initiatives and implement related processes. Ensure adherence to department protocols and procedures to deliver a safe and efficient service with exceptional patient care. Provide recommendations for service quality improvements to the RT Manager. Support a high-performance culture that delivers quality patient care services through a patient-centric and collaborative approach. Promote and support education, research and professional development to the Radiation Therapist team. Support the orientation of new staff and manage the supervision and instruction of students, interns and radiation therapists. Skills & Experience: Proven technical proficiency in radiation therapy treatment planning and delivery. Experience as a team leader/supervisor with strong people skills. Eclipse planning experience preferable. Effective interpersonal and communication skills that inspire the trust and confidence required to build strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated understanding of, and a commitment to, the delivery of high-quality radiation therapy services. Ability to adhere to clinical protocols and procedures. Understanding of the service delivery model within the private healthcare sector. Demonstrable capacity to work effectively and positively both independently, and as a member of the multidisciplinary team. Qualifications: Current AHPRA Registered Radiation Therapist with Victorian Radiation Use Licence. Who are we?
