You will lead the delivery of statewide operational and capital maintenance activities designed to make the NSW state road network safer and more resilient. This dynamic role will lead delivery across a substantial program and drive proactive asset maintenance through to the installation of life-saving road safety projects. You will be accountable for: Building a culture of respect and inclusiveness, along with driving a contemporary safety culture. Leading the delivery of a multi-year operational and capital maintenance works and critical programs that support Road Safety, Resilience and Efficiency. First line assurance for safety, environmental and other statutory compliance functions, performance and monitoring. Coordination and partnering across network management and asset recovery from disruption and to support major events. Leading Regional Road Maintenance Council Contracts (RMCCs). Partnering effectively to ensure that critical resource management and resource planning is undertaken to support and enable our people. Driving best practice in delivery models and seeking out innovation that positively supports improvements in safety and productivity. This is a full-time ongoing, Transport Senior Service TSSE2A level role offering an attractive remuneration package. About you You are a highly technical engineering professional with deep skills and experience in the roads space and motivated to enable and support your team's success. You will also bring: An authentic leadership approach, with demonstrated experience of leading a culture of respect and inclusion, supporting and positively influencing how teams work and partner across the state. An unwavering passion to ensure that your team performs work safely, while making NSW roads safer for our community. Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional customer and stakeholder service levels. Experience working in a matrix organisation with a strong focus on partnering with other functions to ensure your people have access to the extensive skills and experience on offer across Transport. A proven ability to develop and deliver at scale reliably and safely. Experience in leading a large, geographically dispersed team across multiple operational disciplines. Expertise in asset management fundamentals and infrastructure maintenance principles as well as extensive experience in project management and delivery. Experience in managing competing and complex demands to ensure timely delivery of projects within a 24/7 operating environment. An innovative mindset focused on driving continuous improvement and best practice delivery models. Expertise and sound understanding of budgeting, financial management and contract negotiations. The communication skills and gravitas to influence and build strong relationships across Transport and Government, and with senior industry leaders and partners. The experience to support and lead teams in an active change management environment and proven experience in leading reform.
