Our team is the driving force behind all Workday operations, providing crucial support for all Lifecycle Engineering Operations.About the RoleTo oversee our database reliability engineering in Chennai, Workday is seeking a Manager, Site Reliability Engineering.
This position is essential to providing our customers with dependable and highly available database infrastructure for their mission-critical workloads.
As a leader, you will guide DBAs and database engineers to achieve excellence by emphasizing dependability and availability and improving database performance.
You will serve in a rotational on-call capacity and support regular upgrades and patches to maintain security vulnerabilities.
The objective is to achieve database infrastructure resilience across multiple environments and the cloud.About YouBasic Qualifications:2 years of experience directly managing teams supporting mission-critical production workloads on MySQL, PostgreSQL, CloudSQL, and other Cloud native databases.8 years of experience with design, development, management of database administration and development using MySQL, PostgreSQL, CloudSQL, and other Cloud native databases.Hands-on experience with at least one Cloud technology: AWS, GCP, and/or other clouds managing clustered, highly available database services deployed on different flavors of Linux.Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or equivalent work experience.Other Qualifications:Experience with database architecture, design, replication, clustering, HA/DR.Working experience in multiple languages such as shell, python, ruby, etc.Good working knowledge of GitHub, JIRA, Confluence.Outstanding team player with considerable analytical, collaborative, and written communication abilities.Ability to explain complicated technological concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.Our Approach to Flexible WorkWith Flex Work, we're combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
