About the role Reporting directly to the Global Head of Tax, this role will support with tax compliance and reporting for the Group as well as providing tax advice and managing regulatory reviews. Key responsibilities Tax Compliance & Reporting Lead the timely and accurate delivery of direct and indirect tax compliance and reporting obligations for the Australian tax group and other group entities in the APAC region. This includes overseeing income tax, FBT, GST, and tax forecasting, ensuring all statutory requirements are met in accordance with local regulations. Tax Effect Accounting & Financial Disclosures: Take responsibility for tax-effect accounting, including the preparation and delivery of tax disclosures in the financial statements. Collaborate closely with external auditors to ensure compliance and accurate representation of tax-related matters in financial reporting. Tax Advisory Support: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal and business leaders, to provide proactive and strategic tax advice. Address and resolve tax-related queries, helping the business navigate complex tax issues and make informed decisions, Regulatory Reviews: Oversee and manage tax regulatory authority reviews, audits, and inquiries. Ensure the company remains compliant with regulatory requirements while minimising any potential risks or penalties, Tax Governance Framework: Continuously evaluate and improve the operational effectiveness of the tax governance framework. Implement best practices and maintain robust internal controls to ensure compliance, transparency, and the efficient management of tax obligations. Required skills, attributes and experience Comprehensive local tax experience within a Big 4/Mid-Tier chartered firm and/or in a large, complex commercial environment (essential) Proven experience in income tax compliance, tax-effect accounting, and providing practical tax advisory services. CA, CPA or CTA qualified with relevant experience within a tax focused role. Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly and concisely conveying complex information A self-motivated, high performer with ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
