About the role
:
1. As a member of a multidisciplinary child health team the BSF Child and Family Health Nurse works in close partnership with the BSF Aboriginal Health Worker and the Aboriginal Community to provide culturally safe, compassionate, person centred care that is evidence based, to promote infant and child physical, emotional and social health.
2. You will be job sharing with another CNS2 with the Building Strong Foundations team and work closely with our Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Health Service (AMIHS).
3. Clients are seen in their homes, alternative community settings or at the Community Health Centre.
4. Candidates will have skills in teamwork and be able to adapt their communication style to target their audience.
5. You will be responsible for a busy case load of clients, who often experience psychosocial complexities.
6. The role requires you to provide assertive follow up to young Aboriginal clients aged 0-5years and their families/carers.
7. Candidates are required to have an understanding of Closing The Gap and to have cultural competence.
Requirements:
8. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
9. Post registration qualifications relevant to the area of Child & Family Health.
10. At least 3 years post registration experience within the clinical area of specialty.

12. The successful applicant will receive orientation and training while in the role, this includes mandatory education and training specifically for the BSF role.
13. We encourage and support both internal and external support, with regular monthly clinical supervision and Local Health District linkage to other BSF teams.

Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme:
This vacancy is eligible for an Attraction and Relocation package that includes the following*:

24. An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part time and temporary part time vacancies.
