About the roleAre you a Senior Electrical Engineer looking for the next step in your career? Our Sydney team is looking for a Principal level ASP3 Accredited Electrical Engineer to carry out electrical and lighting designs along with private designs. You will work across a broad variety of projects in many market sectors ranging from new network greenfield connection, alterations to existing connections in brownfield areas or infrastructure projects. Our culture has a strong focus on learning, personal development and training. The seniors are hands-on with delivering projects, however, allow employees opportunities to gain more responsibility and more ownership/autonomy over their work. This role will report to the Team Lead with options to grow within the role and move into a Team Leader position. Our environment is team-focused, and we value knowledge sharing and collaboration. The role is based out of our Sydney or Wollongong offices with work from home options.
Day to day tasks may involve:
Design and drafting of ASP3 electrical drawings including overhead and underground works.
Prepare packages to obtain certification meeting all requirements and objectives for Stantec, Clients, and Authorities.
Ensure designs are compliant and according to Utility Network Standards and Authorities (Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy, Essential Energy, Transgrid, TfNSW), Councils, Australian standards and other relevant standards, policies and practices.
Liaise with relevant stakeholders including energy authorities.
Liaise with other disciplines within Stantec.
Conduct site inspections and data collection/testing.
QualificationsTo be successful for this role you'll need to:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably in consulting or a related industry.
ASP3 Accreditation and ability to prepare Level 3 ASP, Private and Lighting electrical designs.
Familiar with Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy, and Essential Energy standards & designs.
Knowledge of NSW utilities, Authorities, Australian Standards.
Knowledge and proficient use of AutoCAD, MS Office (Excel, Word, Project).
Desirable but not essential knowledge of Powerlines Pro, Poles N Wires, PLSCADD, AGI32 (CDEGS, Argon, PowerCAD will be beneficial).
Ability to read DBYD, survey, service, civil, architectural plans.
Prepare and collate documentation to support designs.
Effective communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with a team of engineers and designers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Commercial acumen and problem-solving skills.
