About the Role This role will support the Therapeutic Team Leaders in maintaining a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for clients residing within the Our Way Home Program. This role is required to provide direct care to the clients within the service as well as facilitating children's care teams, enacting children's My Plans and completing professional administration tasks. This role acts autonomously under the direction of the Therapeutic Team Leaders. This role may offer support and direction to Support Workers. Our Full-Time role is offered on a roster of 7 days on 7 days off. The roster is run across 365 days a year. This role is offered on Permanent, Full-Time at our Metro – Parkerville services. If you would be keen to join us, we are now seeking a passionate and committed professional to join our team who can: Provide day to day care for children in ways which meet their developmental needs, and have a positive effect on their self-esteem, attachment, and security, in accordance with duty of care requirements and agency processes, including being non punitive. Support and facilitate children's connections with family using a range of skills and creative approaches. Support the development of the care home as a Home Away from Home. Establish and maintain feedback loops for children and young people to have input into the care home. Provide activities and supports for children or young people in ways that meet their developmental and cultural needs. Be actively involved in the child's family relationships and connections. The successful candidate for this role will be able to: A relevant tertiary qualification (at least Diploma level) or at least 3 years of relevant experience. A "C" class driver's licence. Knowledge and experience in case management and advocacy for children, youth, and their families. Skills in caring for children and an understanding of child development. Demonstrated ability to document and report incidents and behaviour succinctly and objectively. Demonstrated capacity to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Desirable: Demonstrated experience working with children and young people from a range of cultures including Aboriginal and CALD children and young people.
