About the Role
Youth Justice Services is responsible for the safety, security, and rehabilitation of young people in the community and in custody.
We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated person to join a positive, team-oriented centre, where all staff support one another and enjoy the differing challenges and highlights of working in the remote West Kimberley region, which includes travelling to some of the communities.
Key Responsibilities
1. To work with young people subject to community work obligations or orders issued by sentencing and releasing authorities.
2. To ensure that young people in their care satisfy their community work obligations, retain a sense of dignity and self-worth, and have opportunities to develop new skills that contribute to their rehabilitation.
3. To undertake duties with an understanding of and sensitivity to diverse cultural groups, demonstrating cultural competency in their work.
Requirements
* A current Working with Children Check.
* An Australian citizenship or permanent resident status in Australia.
* A C Class driver's licence.
