The key duties of the position include:The RoleAs an APS 5 in Enterprise Committees, you will be provided with the unique opportunity to provide support to high level decision-making forums and Defence’s most senior leaders. You may supervise staff and will provide a key support role in the delivery of senior committees.
As an APS 5 in Enterprise Accountabilities and Governance, you will be part of a team that is accountable for the delivery of detailed and technical policy advice in relation to complex issues around compliance with legislation and administrative policy arrangements. You will perform a key support role in the delivery of advice and governance reform. We are seeking a number of suitably skilled and experienced applicants who can demonstrate skill and/or experience in:
Working collaboratively in a team based environment;
Building and sustaining relationships with stakeholders (including cross-agency);
Quality written and verbal communication;
Sound professional judgement; and
Ability to follow policy and process.
About our TeamEnterprise Governance is a diverse branch that works in the strategic centre of Defence. The Enterprise Accountabilities and Governance Directorate establishes and manages a number of enterprise level governance frameworks. These include:
Accountability and Administrative Policy arrangements;
How Defence Works document, Defence Instructions;
Strategic Accountabilities Table; and
Defence-wide administrative policy guidance and senior committee evaluation.
Enterprise Committees is a dynamic, high performing team who have the privilege of working directly with the Department of Defence’s ‘Top 4’ leaders – the Secretary of Defence, the Chief of the Defence Force, The Associate Secretary of Defence and the Vice Chief of the Defence Force. The team enables critical decision making that occurs through the Defence committee meeting process.Please note that remote or flexible working arrangements may be considered on a case by case basis, but long term arrangements may not be as readily available due to the nature and classification of the work undertaken.
