Our client is a leading Australian financial institution seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Treasury Operations candidate to join and lead their small Treasury Operations team.
The position will be responsible for providing back-office administration, processing, settlement, reporting and supporting services to the Treasury Department, as well as managing the Treasury Administration team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Handling of ISDA and Swaps Agreements.
* Check and sign documentation relating to all funding facilities and financial instruments following negotiations.
* Prepare monthly reports on borrowings (Swaps, ECP, EMTN, Break Date, M-T-M Revaluation etc).
* Review and prepare daily cashflow forecasts for Treasury and Reserve accounts, check and authorise daily transactions, confirmation and settlement letters against Daily Deal Worksheets and system entries.
* Responsible for the administration of remitting and receiving fund in relation to all funding related activities and investment.
* Check and prepare payments for settlement of all Treasury transactions, ensuring all payments are made on a timely basis.
* Monitor incoming funds for receipt of outstanding loan repayment and various fees.
* Liaise with local and offshore counterparties and Agencies regarding settlement of transactions and investigate and follow up outstanding payments and confirmations.
* Assist in implementing internal controls, review and maintain the procedure manual in line with operation and system changes.
* Supervise Treasury Administration team members, set goals for achievement and further development.
* Provide effective leadership of Treasury Administration including performance management, internal team communication and activity prioritisation, resource management, coaching and mentoring.
Desired Qualifications:
* Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Financial Management, Economics or equivalent.
* Ability to lead, coach and develop direct reports.
* Extensive knowledge and ideally 5-10 years of experience in financial institutions, especially in the Treasury middle and back-office area.
* Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
* Strong ability to work in a team environment and take accountability.
* Ability to use computer systems to enhance work productivity, with expertise in the use of spreadsheets and databases.
