About The RoleIn this role, you will be planning and preparing age-appropriate meals and snacks in accordance to current food safety legislation and nutritional guidelines. You will also ensure that the kitchen and equipment is being maintained in a safe and hygienic manner in accordance to Health and Safety Regulations, reporting any requirements to the Team Leader or Centre Manager.This is a casual opportunity based at all Early Childhood Services run by the City of Greater Geelong.Work type: CasualKey responsibilities include: Plan, prepare and serve a menu of nutritious meals which are appropriate to a variety of age groups. Adhere to strict dietary requirements where required. Implementing the Food Safety Plan (Food Act 1984). Advise the Team Leader or Centre Manager of requirements in relation to food stock. Ensure the kitchen is maintained in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2012. The Education and Care Services National Law Act 2012 and the National Quality Standards. About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have the ability to cook nutritionally balanced and age-appropriate meals for a large number of children, incorporating meals with specific dietary requirements. You will also have the ability to prepare menus including pre ordering and purchasing food.Essential Experience: Employee Working with Children Check Completion of a recognised Food Handlers Course Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and Food Safety Legislation.
