We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Coordinator to join our team YMCA Burleigh Heads Outside School Hours Care (OSHC). This is a permanent, part-time position.
Your working hours per week will be 34.5 hours during school term and up to 38 hours during vacation care time.
About the role
In this position, you will assist the Service Coordinator with the day-to-day running of the service and management of a team of Educators. You will receive support from a dedicated management team, consisting of the Coordinator, Senior Coordinator Area Coordinator, Regional Manager and the OSHC Manager.
As the Assistant Coordinator you will assist with
* The development of quality programs
* Manage the day to day running of the programs
* Support the Coordinator with staff management
* Ensure compliance with policy
* Undertake administrative requirements
* Work collaboratively with families and the school community
As the Assistant Coordinator you will have
* Completed (or actively studying) of relevant qualifications in Childcare or Teaching (Minimum of Diploma in Children Services)
* Demonstrated experience in assisting with programming and a passion for providing quality childcare
* Demonstrated experience in maintaining effective administration and correct documentation in an OSHC service
* Excellent customer service skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain
* Certificate of Suitability to work with Children and Young People (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain
* NQF knowledge would be advantageous

YMCA Burleigh Heads Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is located in the School Hall at Burleigh Heads State School. We are licensed for 75 children and we offer Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care between 6.30am- 6pm.
At YMCA Burleigh we play, connect and learn on Yugambeh land and we support our families to connect with us, and be a part of this community through communication and input. We aspire to create a place where the children belong, a space that they have a level of ownership over. We are passionate about child’s choice activities and listening to their needs when creating a program and our menu. Our team of educators bring education to life through fun and engaging activities for children of varying ages; where they can explore, create, grow and learn. Children connect to this community and collaborate with educators and each other to create a routine that they love.
Children enjoy outdoor play with access to the oval, basketball courts and multiple adventure playgrounds. Afternoon tea is typically enjoyed through a picnic styled experience at the picnic tables or the picnic mats. Drawing and creating are readily available during all indoor and outdoor play opportunities.
Inside children explore through imaginative and creative play every BSC and ASC sessions. Children often utilise they hall for dancing, talent shows and creative movement. It is our hope that children feel safe, secure and supported during their time with us.
At YMCA Burleigh Heads OSHC we teach the children our key values that ‘we are caring, honest, respectful, make good choices and have fun!’ Children are taught 5 areas of respect: respect for educators, themselves, each other, the equipment and the environment.
