We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible to support the Maintenance Manager with the maintenance, repair, and servicing of our machinery and equipment to ensure smooth and efficient production processes. Benefits for you Above Award Pay Rates Progression and growth opportunity Work close to your home in Epsom Great team culture and training provided What this Role Involves: Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will collaborate with the broader team to support production by implementing proactive maintenance strategies to minimise downtime and enhance efficiency. Your role includes overseeing preventative maintenance and servicing machinery, troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic issues as and when they happen, and managing schedules, deadlines, and inventory within budget constraints. Additionally, you will liaise with facilities services and tradespersons, implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs and SOPs, ensure WHS and Work Safe compliance, and assist in developing innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality. Perform regular maintenance on machinery and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues promptly to minimise downtime. Install and commission new equipment as required. Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot any mechanical faults. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs. Collaborate with the production team to ensure efficient workflow and minimal disruption. What we need from you: Experience working with machines and willing to learn new machines Understanding of hydraulics, diesel, and electrical systems preferred IT skills, including MS Office Suite Comfortable reviewing and monitoring electrical faults and failures to provide early diagnostics. Familiarity with sensors (replacements), fuse changes, VSD and electrical motor maintenance will be viewed favourably (understanding of low-level PLC cards optional). Experience with fumigation equipment, mobile diesel-fuelled vehicles, Steffen 3400 Press with retrofitted D1000 baler and teaser setup utilising OMS strappers. Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving abilities Effective communication and interpersonal skills High attention to detail and analytical abilities Experience in a heavy industrial setting, preferably agricultural desired Please note – This position works in a dusty work environment, please consider this if you suffer from asthma or other airborne allergies. The role will be required to support afternoon shifts with some rotation with the Maintenance Manager to ensure maximum coverage across operating hours.
