This role will perform a wide range of tasks that may include:Statistical analysis of ecological data.Manipulation and federation of multiple sources of spatio-temporal raster and vector data.Collaborative and iterative development of data and reporting workflows and pipelines.Ensuring that ecological data is accurate, consistent, and reliable for informed environmental decision making.Innovate analytical and graphical outputs appropriate for ecological decision making and reporting.Report writing based on spatial and non-spatial environmental data. Providing data governance and statistical analysis leadership and support to our key business areas of spatial ecology, botany, and zoology.Metadata management.Applying the latest machine learning models to whole-of-site rehabilitation, weed, and vegetation condition monitoring.Production of training data for Machine Learning applications.Ecological and species distribution modelling.Skills and experience Tertiary qualifications in botany, environmental science, or equivalent, with a strong emphasis on statistics and GIS/Remote Sensing, or in mathematical, computing or information sciences with a strong emphasis on ecological systems.Competent in the use of GIS software including ArcGIS/QGIS, with a strong understanding of remote sensing principles and their application.Strong proficiency in R and/or Python.Data modelling and SQL skills are desirable.Strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to produce high quality, scientifically robust reports, and other client deliverables.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to collaborate and lead within cross-functional teams.Ability and willingness to complete ecological field surveys across the state.How to apply Please apply directly with a Cover Letter (including salary expectations) and current CV.Please note: Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.This position is not open to Recruitment Agencies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
