About the role
1. Play a key role in the Antibiotic Allergy and Assessment Clinic and Infectious Diseases team by providing high level clinical pharmacy service and pharmaceutical advice relating to antibiotic allergy de-labelling and infectious disease to all stakeholders at RBWH.
2. Contribute to practice and service development, innovation and activities that improve medicines management for patients accessing Pharmacy services, and that are aligned to organisational goals, professional, legislative and ethical standards.
3. Exercise independent professional judgement in resolving problems, with more complex clinical decisions and problem solving made with limited professional supervision and guidance.
About you
This successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North values and the corresponding Lominger competencies shown above in this role description:
4. Provide advanced clinical advice in relation to antibiotic allergy de-labelling and clinical expertise to solve complex antibiotic allergy issues.
5. Have clinical understanding and experience in antibiotic allergy testing, desensitisation and de-labelling and oversee clinical pharmacy processes in the Antibiotic Allergy and Assessment clinic.
6. Provide sound, high level advice and assistance to clinical staff for evidence-based evaluation of new medicine therapies, and to professional and operational supervisors regarding service delivery
7. Work cooperatively and effectively with multidisciplinary teams within and external to pharmacy, and with patients/carers, and actively participate and provide high level advice within this multidisciplinary environment
8. Oversee clinical pharmacy service provision to the Antibiotic Allergy and Assessment clinic including guideline development, research initiatives and supervision of pharmacy interns and students.
9. Provide clinical practice supervision and clinical education to Pharmacy practitioners to ensure the maintenance of professional clinical standards within the Pharmacy service.
