You will join a team of experienced educators and work with highly capable young people. This pivotal role will lead a faculty encompassing all elements of The Arts curriculum across Years 7 to 12. Exciting opportunities to lead Arts programs from across the state already associated with the school.About the School: In 1955, the Department of Education acquired a 26-acre site between Dean and Berserker Streets and made plans to erect a high school. Currently, North Rockhampton State High School has a student population of about 950 students and eighty teaching staff. A large Special Education Unit provides additional support structures within the school. The school has an extensive range of curriculum offerings, one of the largest in the Rockhampton district, with growing flexibility for students in the senior phase.About the Role: Head of Department for The Arts will:Demonstrate initiative and play a leading role in supporting students' learning and the effective delivery of the Arts curriculum so that every young person has the opportunity to achieve their personal best.Lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives.Participate in delivering the vision of Early Childhood and State Schools Division.Develop the quality of teaching and learning.Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, and stakeholders.Responsibilities include:Lead a team of educators and support the school to drive the strategic agenda focused on developing assessment capable learners.Embed socially just practices in daily school life.Set high standards for student and staff performance.Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.Be futures oriented and strategic.Please view the Role Description for a full list of responsibilities.Interested?
