The role involves working in our homes for children living in Out of Home Care settings, aged between 11 and 18. You will operate on a 24/7 rotating roster, which includes morning, afternoon, and night shifts, including sleepovers and awake shifts as needed.
As a successful Youth Worker, you will have a demonstrated passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and support.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting individuals with disabilities and complex needs to lead fulfilling lives and promote their independence and wellbeing
* Working therapeutically with young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and those who have experienced significant trauma and adversity
* Providing documentation and reporting writing with a deep commitment to the safeguarding of vulnerable children and young people
* Building rapport quickly, having resilience, and good professional boundaries
Requirements
* Certificate III, Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services or Youth Work (or be willing to enroll and complete a Diploma of Community Services or Youth Work)
* Prior experience working in a Youth Worker position is highly regarded
* A valid NSW Driver's licence and your own insured vehicle
* A Working With Children Check and Criminal History Check
* A Current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain before commencement
