School of Public Health Full-time (100%), fixed-term position through December 2026 Base salary will be in the range $112,572 - $133,381 17% Superannuation (Academic Level B) Based at our Herston Campus About This Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to engage in research to further their expertise and growing research profile to achieve national recognition in their discipline. At this level it is expected that in incumbent will efficiently manage service and engagement roles and activities. Key responsibilities will include: Develop a research program that contributes to achieving the goals of a NHMRC Synergy Grant on tobacco endgame policy research. Produces quality research outputs consistent with discipline norms by publishing or exhibiting in national and international research journals, other appropriate refereed publications and conference publications, with a lead role in some outputs. Work with colleagues in the development of joint research projects and applications for competitive research funding support. Supervise students, recruit and manage employees (as necessary), provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits. Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values. About You Completion of a PhD in public health or a related discipline area. High level quantitative data analysis skills, particularly with use of panel data. Evidence of understanding of tobacco control policy and commercial tobacco endgame approaches. A growing profile in research in public health or a related discipline area, particularly in the tobacco control policy field. A developing reputation and track record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences. A growing record of supervision of students on research projects. Experience in meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with active contributions to external activities The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia and education check.
