Our client is a global funds management business with a growing footprint in the Australian marketplace.
The Melbourne-based Business Development Associate will play a crucial role in the growth of the firm's client base in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
This role supports the Southern Regional team in servicing intermediary clients within a geographic region.
The individual develops a plan to support senior sales representatives and service allocated clients to achieve objectives and KPIs relating to flow, revenue and activity.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the execution of the broader distribution strategy.
2. Provide support to sales representatives in servicing an allocated set of clients and prospects by fielding, responding, and accommodating day-to-day requests.
3. Build and develop relationships with existing clients through calls, networking, and events.
4. Prospect for new clients through cold calling, networking, and other means to continually increase business and develop opportunities.
5. Organise and attend client events and entertainment with both existing clients and new prospects.
6. Develop a good understanding of clients' businesses, objectives, goals, and market challenges within specific regions and ensure information flow and support from the team is consistent.
Requirements:
* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
* At least 2 years of industry work experience preferred.
* Strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skills - fluent English.
* Experience using specialised financial software, such as Bloomberg or Morningstar Direct, is preferred.
* Experience developing Excel models and using other Office applications.
