Seeking a WHS and Wellbeing Policy Officer to create policies and frameworks that ensure safety and wellbeing in line with legislation 6 months contract role with possible extension. Attractive hourly pay rate $75.65/hour Super. Hybrid work (WFH Sterling, ACT). Immediate start PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: As a part of your role, you will work collaboratively with the Subject Matter Expert (SME) teams to develop frameworks, policies and procedures to support safety and wellbeing in alignment with the relevant legislation. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Review current policies and procedures related to safety and wellbeing and working with SMEs to ensure alignment with related policies and procedures. Prepare briefs and reporting as required. Liaise with staff at all levels, establishing proactive and cooperative relationships to progress projects and policies as required. Work participatively within a small team, contributing to the Project Management Office, both as a team member and individually with limited supervision. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: Previous experience in developing and implementing WHS and Wellbeing policy or programs in the government context. Demonstrated experience in drafting evidence-based policies and procedures and proven ability to interpret legislation to apply in a policy context. Developed project management skills with a proven ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines. Demonstrated capability in ICT. Interpretation of complex WHS legislation and policy writing skills in the public sector will be considered favourably. Previous experience in working in education and/or ACT Education Directorate.
