About the role
This position is part of the Public Intoxication Response and sits within the AOD Outreach cluster. The Public Intoxication Response service will deliver a health response to people intoxicated in metro Melbourne in line with the recent decriminalisation of public intoxication by the Victorian Government.
The Enrolled Nurse will provide outreach, triage, transport and monitoring of individuals to ensure safety at all stages of the client journey. This role requires regular shift work including after-hours, day and night shifts, and weekends.

Your duties include:
4. Support a philosophy of care that is patient-focused, where care is integrated from pre-admission to post-discharge
5. Triage the immediate health needs as a first responder and provide nursing and first aid support as required
6. Provide high-quality, recovery-oriented, evidence-based outreach and on-site services in consultation with the Registered Nurse to clients experiencing complex health and social issues
7. Ensure all reporting, case notes, data management and other administrative duties are completed accurately, confidentially and in a timely professional manner

Our ideal candidate:
14. Current Enrolled Nurse registration with APHRA
15. Community nursing experience
16. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of Harm Reduction, especially relating to AOD use
17. Highly developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Police Check, a Working With Children Check (WWCC), complete a Statutory Declaration, evidence of legal rights to work in Australia, and evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 (3 doses). Additionally, some roles will also require current AHPRA registration and/or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
Roles that are determined to be Risk Category A or B [staff that have direct and/or indirect contact with body substances and are at higher risk of occupational exposure to infections] will be required to provide evidence of immunisation assessment including Influenza prior to commencement [A] or within 12 weeks of commencement [B]. This is in accordance with the Victorian Minister of Health Mandatory Vaccination Orders for COVID-19 and legislated requirement for influenza vaccination.
