Acute Psychiatric Unit (APU)

Mental Health Division
The Mental Health Division provides mental health assessment and interventions for individuals experiencing mental illness and their families and carers.
Our team works from a recovery-oriented model, offering hospital-based, community, and specialist services for infants, children, young people, adults, and aged people.
Acute Psychiatric Unit
The Acute Psychiatric Unit consists of two mental health programs:
* Adult Acute Program (AAP): 19 beds providing inpatient services to individuals over 18 years old with acute psychiatric disorders requiring specialist intervention.
* Eating Disorder Program: Five inpatient beds for consumers with severe eating disorders requiring an acute health restoration program due to medical risk.

Key Requirements:
* Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registered Nurse registration
* Acute clinical experience and knowledge
* Commitment to quality, best practice, and environmental safety
* Effective communication skills in written and verbal form
* Experience in Mental Health with a minimum of Post Graduate Certificate in Mental Health
