Location: North Sydney, NSW 2060.
The Challenge
Ascendion is looking for a self-motivated individual to join our client’s Payroll team, to support their APJ region, to help them transition to a new global payroll platform, and to transition their expense reimbursement processes from payroll to Accounts Payable team in a few of APJ countries. This role will be the lead on these transition projects and will support our two Payroll Specialists based in Sydney, Australia. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our processes and better assist the employees.
Expectations for Success
* Lead and support the transition of payroll operations in six countries in our APJ region: Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore.
* Lead the transition of expense reimbursement processes from payroll to Accounts Payable operations, in India, Japan, and Korea.
* Support payroll specialists through review/approval of monthly payroll processing.
* Conduct audits of payroll, benefits, long-term incentives and other programs and recommend corrective actions where needed.
* Research payroll, tax and absence regulations.
* Ensure overall data quality with employment records.
* Assist in fulfillment of employment verifications and unemployment claims.
* Assist in annual audits with external auditors.
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic:
* 3 to 4 years of prior payroll experience, including payroll software implementations (parallel testing, paycode and deduction code setup).
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
* Ability to communicate well, both verbal and written.
* Analytical skills.
* Ability to work in a team environment.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
