The Role The Student 360 (S360) Program is a key component of the University’s digital transformation strategy and will establish a digital platform based on Salesforce Education Cloud for student support and administration. The Program will improve our students’ experiences by providing more streamlined and personalised service delivery, integrating data from multiple systems, and facilitating faster and easier resolution of service requests. S360 will leverage the foundational capability of Salesforce Education Cloud, MuleSoft and AWS Connect. Future projects within the Student 360 Program are also planned beyond 2026. We are seeking a dynamic Enterprise Architect who has extensive experience providing architectural governance and IT strategic direction in support of large-scale, complex IT Programs. The role will need to work collaboratively with IT operations, however it will report into the S360 Program’s Release Manager and will play a critical part in laying the foundation for the Program’s success. This role is responsible for defining and managing the S360 Program’s architectural strategy and plan for its multi-year implementation, providing design authority to meet Program goals. You will lead the Program’s architectural engagement with University IT operations and architecture teams, to ensure our technology assets and investments are aligned with the University’s strategic objectives and standards. The role will also direct and support Solutions Architects to scope, price and design solutions to meet the Program’s objectives, planning and defining any changes to the existing architectural environment. Whilst the role is expected to be strategic, you will also be expected to step in and directly support Program delivery. About You You will be a highly experienced Enterprise Architect, specialising in the higher education sector, having worked either in-house or as a seasoned consultant to one or more Australian universities. Your specific experience will have included major student digital transformation programs in complex heterogenous environments. You will be knowledgeable of contemporary themes and issues in higher education – from customer, organisation, and technology perspectives. You will have a solid understanding of sound architectural method and experience in leading others in improving architectural practice maturity and the practical adoption of architectural best practice and frameworks such as TOGAF. You will have experience undertaking strategic planning in consultation with the business and have well-developed skills in defining and communicating target and transitional architectures and roadmaps across all architectural domains (including information risk and security). You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, technical, and business stakeholders at multiple levels in the organisation, including executives. You will have strong commercial awareness and extensive experience with IT sourcing and supplier management, and a solid understanding of the value levers across service strategy, design, transition, and operations. You will be a self-starter and enjoy working in a dynamic environment as a team player, are motivated by the outcomes and challenges of owning and driving the sustainability and success of a highly critical Program, with a methodical and consultative approach in your work. Proven ability to provide technical design assurance over both internally produced and third-party solution architecture and systems design deliverables to ensure fitness for purpose and compliance with standards within a complex and formalised environment.
