Executive Officer - Government Relations and AdvocacyChristian Schools Australia (CSA) is the largest association of Christian schools in the country and has member schools educating over 86,000 students and employing over 13,500 staff at more than 200 locations across Australia. CSA member schools provide high quality education within an authentic Christian learning community.CSA seeks an Executive Officer Government Relations and Advocacy to support the growing need for policy and advocacy on behalf of its member schools. The role involves:Preserving and enhancing the freedom to operate Christian schools in Australia.Building relationships with political representatives at the Commonwealth and State/Territory levels.Developing a strategic approach to advocacy within the organisation and membership.Presenting a positive message of Christian education in the media and wider community.Preparation of submissions to Parliamentary and other inquiries and reviews.Analysing and summarising legislative and policy proposals to inform member schools of key developments.Deepening the capacity of member schools to promote Christian education in the public square.Key attributes:Experienced senior leadership in policy, communication or government relations work.Highly developed analysis and synthesis skills.Advanced written communication skills – policy formulation, parliamentary submissions.Self-motivated with an ability to deliver complex projects.Highly relational with strong communication, networking, and presentation skills.The successful applicant will have:A strong Christian faith and well-grounded Christian worldview.An understanding of the Christian schooling sector.Deep knowledge of the Australian political system at the Commonwealth and State/Territory levels.Demonstrated ability to network and form relationships with key stakeholders.Ability to undertake some domestic travel.Applications close: Thursday 10 October at 4pm AEST
