Sustaining this is all the more critical and challenging as greater electrification of homes, fleets, and industries becomes a core strategy for reducing carbon emissions and addressing climate change.About the Role:We currently have an exciting permanent opportunity as a Licenced Electrical Inspector – Networks that should not be missed!The role is Melbourne-based at the Powercor Brooklyn depot, working across our CitiPower and inner Powercor distribution area.Reporting to the Inspections and Investigations Manager, and working in a supportive team, the primary tasks include electrical inspection and work scoping activities for connections & electrical upgrades. This role includes fault and electric shock investigations, facilitating connections for new supplies, supply upgrades to existing installations, and other related duties across the CitiPower and Powercor distribution network area.Candidates for this role will be a Licensed Electrical Inspector, with knowledge of electrical distribution systems, installation wiring methods, and electrical design. Highly organised candidates with excellent customer service and negotiating skills are suited to the role.What you'll deliver:Customer connections – assist in complex underground, overhead, and substation connections for CitiPower/Powercor, including network design consultation, direction, and approval.Ensuring the safety of all stakeholders (the customer, network personnel, general public) in the connection of installations to the electricity network.This role also requires preparation and issuing of applications for network switching and performing LV switching on the network.Electrical inspection – Undertake Electrical Inspection and Connection Works activities to ensure compliance with legislative and company policies, procedures, and standards.Incident Investigation and Reporting – Investigate and prepare company reports relating to electrical incidents and ESV reporting.To succeed in this role you'll have:Detailed knowledge of the Electricity Safety Act, Electricity Safety (General) Regulations, Electricity Safety (Network Assets) Regulations, AS/NZS3000, and the Victorian Service & Installation Rules.Knowledge of the LV Network and the Servicing Techniques and Technologies and metering methodologies.Current Motor Vehicle Drivers Licence.Licensed Electrical Installation Worker.Electrical Inspectors Licence with categories Class G (compulsory), Class V and or Class RE.Experience with or in the electricity distribution network businesses.Previous experience in designing, negotiating & arranging electrical supplies and coordination of connections to electricity distribution networks.Your career with us:We proudly strive to provide a safe, inclusive, and sustainable environment where all our people feel respected, valued, and supported to bring their whole selves to work and be the best they can be.With an embedded Inclusion & Diversity Strategy and initiatives like our Women in Power networking group, and Sparkle, our LGBTIQ+ allies pride network, we're committed to equal opportunities for all employees.Our greatest priority is the health, safety, and wellbeing of our people and the communities we operate within.
